This is a nice, refreshing drink for those sweltering summer days. Of course you can add variations with the fruit, however always add the sugar to the fruit and let it sit a bit.
- Rinse and hull strawberries, put in bowl and sprinkle with the 2 T. sugar, set aside.
- Squeeze the lemons and limes into large bowl or gallon jar. (You should have about 16 0z juice from the fruit) Add the 2 cups sugar and half the water. Stir until sugar is disolved, add the remaining water.
- With a potato masher or fork, mash the strawberries, but leave semi chunky. Add to lemonade, stir well.
Absolutely awesome!!!! I had to literally take the pitcher away from my husband or he would have had the whole thing! I don't like chunks, so I ended up throwing the juice in the blender to make it more pureed. My husband loved it chunky and blended! I don't think I need to try any other strawberry lemonade recipes! This one is a winner!
OMG... We absolutely love the Freckled Lemonade from Red Robin and this receipe blows theirs out of the water!! I will be making this all summer long!
This recipe is the Best!!! My boys are big fans of Red Robin's Freckled Lemonade, but they say this is even better. Thanks for the great find. I will be making this even in the winter!!!!
