      Oh MAN this was good. I used 2 sweet potatoes instead of squash because that's what I had around. I was afraid they'd take too long to cook so I peeled and cut them in half and roasted them under the broiler while I was chopping up the other ingredients. I later made the recipe again with butternut squash and it was good too, the sweet potatoes gave it a slightly different flavor and texture. I followed MarieAlice's suggestion and put grated cheddar on top which complemented the flavors nicely. I got a bunch of requests for the recipe when I brought it to a potluck. Thanks so much, it's definitely a make again!

      I made this for a chili cook off, and it wasn't too popular with the general masses. I did think it had nice spice and flavor, but I felt like the butternut squash never quite blended with the other flavors or textures. Sorry.

      My husband and I enjoyed this delicious chilli very much. It was very easy to put together and used things that I quite often have in my larder. It had a wonderful flavour without being overly spicy. I took liberties and sprinkled some grated cheddar on top for serving, but that is a personal preference, but it went quite well. Also when I went to get my can of beans from the larder I found I didn't have any canellini beans so I used a can of mixed chilli beans instead with great success. Thanks for a new favourite!
