  1. Mix dry ingredients. Add 2 cups boiling water.
  2. Cook until thickened over boiling water or medium heat.
  3. Stir constantly.
  4. Add egg yolks (mixing a bit of the hot liquid with the yolks before adding).
  5. and cook a bit long.
  6. Remove.
  7. Add butter and vanilla.
  8. Cool.
  9. Pour into baked pie shell.
  10. Meringue:.
  11. Beat 2 egg whites till fluffy.
  12. Add sugar and cornstarch. Whip until it peaks.
  13. Pile on top of pie.
  14. Brown slightly in a 350F oven (approx 5 - 10 mins).
