Tip: Bake for 20 minutes, remove and place strips of aluminum foil, or a pie crust shield around the crust to prevent overbrowning, and continue baking. Top with whipped cream or even better vanilla ice cream.
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the bottom of the uncooked pie shell and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter, sugar, and flour, until well mixed; add eggs, one at a time and mix well.
- Add the vanilla and pecans, mix and pour evenly into pie shell on top of the chocolate chips. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until set.
- Let cool completely.
