I was going to submit my recipe for this and found out this recipe is exactly like mine with one exception, the pecans and chips are added to the filling then poured into the shell, either way this is a great pecan pie. I am also a suthener, TX to be exact, we have tons of pecan trees growing wild here (3 in my yard) and I know a good pecan pie! I sometimes serve mine with a spoonfull of whipped cream topped with a pecan half dipped in chocolate, if I want to be fancy.

Yummmmmmm!! I made this for our early Thanksgiving dinner last night and it was just perfect. I made exactly as written and I wouldn't change a thing.

I had high hopes for this pie. I remember making a similar chocolate pecan pie in the past that I loved. This one, had bits with a plastic like texture in the center. I'm not sure what went wrong, but since the center bite is the first one you take, it was a bit of a put-off.

My family really liked this pie. The only problem I had was the crust stuck to the pie plate in some places and was very difficult to get out. I will still make it again.

One of our favorite pies at an Austin restaurant is their chocolate pecan pie so I started having requests to duplicate it at home. This easy recipe accomplished that and always leaves my family and guests humming lots of "wows, mmms, and yums" as they eat. I made my own crust and found that the recipe as written fit 1 Pie Crust. I find that I have to tent or use pie guards otherwise the outer crust will become darker than I like before the center firms up. Thank you Spyder-Man!

I really enjoyed this. I used bittersweet chocolate and it turned out wonderful. I doubled with no problems and they were done in 45 minutes. Thank you for a great recipe!

Yummy! I love pecan pie but don't have the luxury of having pecan trees in my back yard (it's Minnesota after all). I have made a number of pies from this recipe and all were delicious for a chocolate freak like me. Frozen pie shells make this a quick last minute dessert when guests are expected. Thanks Spyder-man!
