Chocolate Pecan Pie

This pie is perfect for chocolate lovers. You can use unsweetened chocolate because there is already enough sugar. It has become a holiday standard at our house.

  1. Preheat oven to 400* In medium bowl, beat eggs slightly.
  2. Add corn syrup, salt, vanilla, brown sugar and butter; mix well.
  3. Melt 2 chocolate squares in top of double boiler, over hot, not boiling, water.
  4. Stir into egg mixture.
  5. Stir in nuts.
  6. Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  7. Bake 15 minutes.
  8. Reduce heat to 350* and bake additional 30-35 minutes or until edge of filling seems set.
  9. Let cool completely on wire rack.
  10. Just before serving, decorate around edge with rosettes of whipped cream.
