Chocolate Peanut Butter Toast

"So simple, it's hardly a recipe, but the combination of a little chocolate and peanut butter in the morning is very satisfying. The idea for doing this came from having read about French schoolchildren often eating a piece of chocolate between pieces of bread. It wasn't far to go to add peanut butter for some protein."

  1. This is a very good, easy breakfast. I had to use peanut butter chips on top of the peanut butter but we LOVE pb so that made it soooo much better! Thanks!Made for THE GROOVY GASTROGNOMES of ZWT5.

  3. Nummy! I just had to try this a few minutes ago and I thought it was great! I used white bread, since I had it on hand. Chocolate chips really do enhance peanut butter toast-I'm impressed! I'm not even a huge fan of the chocolate/PB combination (love them each individually a ton), but I thought this complimented itself very nicely. The texture of those mini chips is really terrific too-they totally melt in your mouth because of the warm peanut butter. What a treat! Thanks!

  4. Delicious! I didn't have any mini chips so they didn't get very melty but I liked it anyway (what's not to like about chocolate & peanut butter? LOL :) ) Thanks!

  5. A fabulous breakfast that even kids can make. I discovered that my picky son will actually eat peanut butter toast if mini chocolate chips are on top. Great idea!! Protein and complex carbs are the perfect combination to send them off to school ready to learn. Thanks for sharing the recipe! Made for PAC Fall 2007.
