These cookies are rich, delicious, and easy to make. It is not my recipe -- I found it at Cooks.com under the title "Simple, Sinful Chocolate Cookies". I took a chance as there were no ratings and they came out so good I had to share. I used organic chunky valencia peanut butter in mine.
- 1⁄2 cup cocoa
- 2 cups sugar
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 3 cups quick oats
- 1⁄2 cup peanut butter
- 1 pinch salt
- Combine sugar, cocoa, milk and butter in saucepan and cook for 1 minute after mixture reaches rolling boil. Remove from heat and add vanilla, salt, peanut butter and oatmeal. Mix. Drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper. Refrigerate.
Made a big pan instead of drop cookies, and cut them into squares. They were excellent, but next time I might add more peanut butter.
I have made these about 4 -5 times. they are great, just like mom used to make but better!
This is a great recipe for no bake cookies. I cut back on the cocoa for personal preference, but they were gone within minutes.
