Wow, this was delicious, especially on sourdough! I used less butter and cooked them on medium on the first side and medium low on the second side to get them brown. The brown crunchiness of the bread is so perfect with the chocolate-y center. These are stellar as is, but I also made them with the addition of banana or marshmallow and those were fantastic too. A definite new favorite!

Yum! Definitely a new favorite! It's just so simple but tastes so decadent. I used potato bread since that is all I had on hand. I was skeptical of the combo but it was delicious. Will be making again! Made for Holiday tag.

What's not to love about this? :) I used semi-sweet chips and sourdough bread. I think this would also be great with raisin bread. And maybe a dab of peanut butter! Mmmmmm... Thanks for sharing Boomette!

Oh this was Yummy! Made this as an indulgent treat and enjoyed every bite. Used a good quality bread that had nuts which added to the texture and flavor both. This tasty treat was made as written using semisweet morsels. Thanks for the post.

What a decadent lunch! WOW! I made this for one, to spoil myself, and I was NOT disappointed! I used semi-sweet morsels, as that is what I had on hand. This is simple and lovely; a perfect brunch treat or lunch or whenever! YUMMY! Thanks so much for sharing, Boomette!

Oh, Boomie!! What have you done?!! LOL!! These are soooo good!!! I used 4 dove chocolates (chopped up) and made just one panini for myself. It was very rich, but heavenly!! Good enough for a Bridal Shower treat, and they stay warm for quite awhile, too! Thanks so much!! :)

Deliciously decadent breakfast, brunch, snack, midnight feast! Who needs an excuse to enjoy these? I've made them twice. Once exactly to the recipe and they were delicious; the second time with the addition of raspberries. I used Aldi's dark chocolate both times. I'll be making these again and experimenting with different complementary fruits but my guess is that berries will be hard to beat. The second time I made these I dispensed with the icing sugar and we enjoyed them instead with a generous dollop of Greek yoghurt. Thank you for sharing this wonderfully yummy and versatile recipe, Boomette. Made for Every Day is a Holiday.

This was totally yummy and easy. I used thick-sliced Hawaiian sweet bread which only added to the decadence. We ate this for a snack with a cold glass of milk.

This might be a great snack for kids, but there are a number of adults around here who really enjoyed it, too! Made up a bunch (some with white bread & some with winter wheat bread, then cut into 6ths) for a group I host each month & THEY WERE A REAL HIT! As was said before, a great chocolate fix! Thanks for posting the recipe! [Tagged, made & reviewed in Please Review My Recipe]

Boomie - what a wonderful treat for my kids this weekend! It reminded me of what my dad called "fudge sandwiches" when I was a kid. We'd toast bread, butter it up and then lay thinly sliced pieces of my mom's fudge on the bread while warm and eat away. This recipe like that is a sweet treat so I could not imagine it for breakfast but any time I'm craving chocolate this will be my go-to recipe. Thanks for helping bring back some wonderful memories I had as a child with my Dad too :) Tagged in 123 Hit Wonders.

We all love this Boomette. It was so simple. I didn't have any thick bread on hand, so we used regular old white bread. A great chocolate fix. My son has requested this several times as his after school snack. Thanks.
