I've loved this pie since I was a kid growing up in southern KY. I sometimes leave out pecans (friends are allergic), also sub some of the chocolate chips with white and butterscotch chips instead. But you CANNOT leave out the bourbon!!!people found this review Helpful. You can only vote others' reviews helpful or not helpful... Was this review helpful to you? My son had this pie at my neighbor's house and promptly pronounce it the best pie he ever had. I made this recipe because it was exactly the same one she made. The only correction I had to make is that the recipe calls for baking only for 30 minutes but I had to bake mine for about 60 minutes. Oh, and I used a graham cracker crust because that is what I had on hand.people found this review Helpful. You can only vote others' reviews helpful or not helpful... Was this review helpful to you? This pie is incredibly rich! I used vanilla instead of bourbon and walnuts instead of pecans. Next time, and there will be a next time, I think I will cut the chocolate chips to 1/2 cup. This would also be good with cinnamon or butterscotch chips, I think. Thanks for a great and easy recipe!people found this review Helpful. You can only vote others' reviews helpful or not helpful...
