Addictive. I use 1/3 milk, 1/3 cup water. Mine takes 2 minutes in the microwave.
Even after adding a couple tablespoons of brown sugar I still thought this was just okay. If I make it again I might add more cocoa powder and use 2% milk instead of water. Or I might just use my hot cocoa mix in place of the cocoa...hmmm. I'm sure it could get to a place where I like it (just not sure if it will still be healthy by the time I'm done!) I should say though that my two little boys did like this! :)
This was fantastic! I used 1/2 cup oats, so increased the ingredients accordingly. Also, I added the vanilla and stevia for sweetness when the oatmeal was finished cooking. I'll Definitely make this again. Thanks for the recipe.
This was an interesting addition to my morning oatmeal adventures. I made it exactly as-is at first, and it was kinda blah (for me). I did what White Rose Child did, adding some brown sugar, which then made it pretty good. I also sliced the banana on top once the oatmeal was done, because hot banana just doesn't "do it" for me. LOL Anything with "monkey" in the title - that's gotta be worth a shot, right? :) I don't know if I'm gonna make this again, but I'm glad I gave it a go. Thanks!
This is really different than my normal oatmeal with berries. It is a nice treat, but don't know if it is something I would do on a regular basis. Thanks so much for posting! Made for I Recommend Tag Game.
Great texture, more like pudding than oatmeal. I think next time I'll add a little more sugar & a dash of cinnamon :)
This is tasty! I enjoyed the addition of cocoa powder and vanilla in my morning oatmeal. The banana brought a nice fresh sweetness to the mix. Thanks for sharing!
Yummm! Terrific after-class snack for a uni student ;-) I forgot the vanilla, but will try that next time!! I also mashed up the banana since it was over-ripe and mixed it into the cocoa & oats. I added some brown sugar to mine. Thanks for posting!
It may not look the most appetizing, but boy does it taste good! I added about a tablespoon of granulated sugar to make it a little sweeter. It's a great breakfast to make on the go, or when you get to work and don't have much time! Yum!
