This is one of my Christmas staples and I'm putting it here so I'll never lose it.
- 1⁄4 cup butter
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 5 ounces marshmallow creme
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 8 ounces chopped black walnuts
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pinch salt
- Bring sugar, butter, evaporated milk to a bubbling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook for 10 minutes while stirring, reducing heat to keep from burning. Scrape down sides of pot frequently. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, marshmallow creme, nuts and vanilla. Stir only until marshmallow and chips are all melted and chocolate is consistant color. Pour into 8x8 buttered, foiled pan and cool before cutting.
