My friend Bob, his cousin Dee Dee, shared this (according to Bob) to-die-for cake on his recent visit to the Palm Coast of Florida.

  2. Coat 2 cake pans with cooking spray.
  3. On low speed mix ingredients except chips.

  5. Add 1/2 cup chips.
  6. Divide batter into pans and sprinkle with remaining chips.
  7. Bake 40 minutes.

i'm only rating the frosting b/c i didn't make the cake (just being lazy) follow this to the letter & it will be AMAZING. my 6-year old son actually said "mommy this frosting is fabulous". i thought that was pretty hilarious. then he said "don't ever make anything different, always make this frosting". it is very unique, it basically tastes like an old-time malt whipped into fluffy frosting that slightly hardens to the touch, which reminds me of bakery quality.

We all like this cake! I put mine in a 9x13 in. pan and it was fine, except it fell. (first time that's ever happened to me) But it is being consumed readily! And about the frosting...I tasted it after I had gotten done adding 2 cups of the sugar and thought that it was sweet enough, so I stopped there.I just added a tiny bit less of the malt mixture then to make sure the frosting didn't get too runny. It was fine. Thanks!
