Chocolate-Honey Swirl Cake

"This cake is easy to make, it's basically a two-bowl cake, one honey batter and one chocolate batter! Make certain that you Coke-Cola is completely flat and the tea is cooled before adding into the batter."

  • Set oven to 350 degrees.
  • Generously grease a 10-inch tube pan.
  • For the honey batter; in a bowl mix together all the dry ingredients (up to and including the allspice).
  • Using a whisk or electric mixer, blend in the oil, honey, white and brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, cooled tea and orange juice; mix well until smooth; set aside.
  • For the chocolate batter; in another large bowl combine flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder and baking soda; using a whisk or electric mixer, blend in white and brown sugars, oil, eggs, vanilla and flat Coke-Cola drink; mix until well blended and smooth.
  • Mix in the chocolate chips (if using).
  • Pour the honey batter into the prepared tube pan, then top with the chocolate batter.
  • Bake for about 55-60 minutes, or until the cake tests done.
  • Cool about 10 minutes in pan then remove to a serving plate.
  • While the cake is still warm sprinkle with grated chocolate and allow to melt.

  1. This sounds very good, but is not a Passover recipe because it contains flour. Eggs and milk are not restricted for Passover-just levening.
