- 4 eggs
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
- 2 ounces chocolate syrup
- 1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 slices bread
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Mix together eggs, Cocoa, sugar, chocolate Syrup and vanilla.
- Soak each bread slice in the mixture.
- Melt butter in a non-stick sauté pan. Fry bread slices until golden brown, turning once (about 2-3 min per side).
I omitted the sugar as we prefer things a little less sweet. My DH gave this five stars and the twins were both signing more. I did find though that this made only 6 slices instead of 8, perhaps I should have used large eggs instead of medium.
These were really good. I did add a few tablespoons of milk because I was afraid it wasn't going to be enough liquid. But then I got an extra couple of slices out of it, so I think my fears were unfounded. Nice chocolately breakfast!
