Dress up purchased fortune cookies for a little treat with your next Asian-themed meal. I haven't tried it, but white chocolate would be an alternative, if you desire. Cook time is approximate time for chocolate to cool.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 dozen fortune cookies
  • 12 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or white chocolate, if desired)
  • 1 tablespoon shortening

  1. In a small bowl, melt chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between.
  2. Add shortening; stir until blended.
  3. Dip the purchased fortune cookies half-way in the chocolate and place on waxed paper to cool.

This is an excellent way to make old fortune cookies vanish! For some reason my grandfather likes to send us fortune cookies in packages which unfortunately are hit and miss flavor but after dipping these in chocolate they were all gone by the end of the day! Thanks!
