This recipe came from my cousin Gayle for my wedding shower.

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Cream together shortening, sugar, and vanilla.
  2. Add 2 eggs and beat.
  3. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
  4. Add melted chocolate.
  5. Stir in walnuts.
  6. Chill 2 or 3 hours.
  7. Form 1 inch balls. Roll in Confectioners sugar.
  8. Place on greased baking sheet.
  9. Bake about 15 minutes(do not overbake).
  10. @ 350 ° F.

What lovely chocolate cookies this recipe makes Lynn. I loved the subtle flavor of the chocolate, in this recipe. The aftertaste is perfect and lasts for quite awhile. Really enjoyed making these chocolate goodies, & they were a fast seller on the first day of my cookie/candy bake sale, so I ended up making a 2nd batch for the final day!
