My mother got this recipe from a restaurant she worked at in Springfield, Vermont. She now makes it at her grandsons' request!

Great chocolate filling. Very smooth and flavorfull. Usually I use flour, but the cornstarch seems to result in a more creamer texture. I did add more chocolate cocoa just because I like a deeper chocolate taste.

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
  2. Whisk in the cornstarch.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and heat on low until thickened.
  4. Pour into the pie shell.
  5. Cool to room temperature or refrigerate before serving.
