      Thank u so much for sharing this recipe. This is like a cross between the Nestle choc chip recipe & the "too" healthy cho chip recipes that my husband isn't a fan of! This seemed to be a perfect balance of less butter but all the taste/sweetness he requires. He did request that I shorten the baking time to about 8 min for a softer cookie. I used Splenda & used 1 cup choc chips like others :-). I hope this will become my hubby's favorite!!

      These are the best cookies ever! I fed these to my guys... no one knew the difference! These in no way taste low calorie! I cut the recipe in half, and it was too dry, so I added an extra egg white. Turned out perfect! Thanks!

      These are the perfect chocolate chip cookie! I love them because they are chewy! I made them last weekend and no one guessed they were from Cooking Light (and I didn't tell.) I do confess, I used 1 C. chocolate chips - 1) because it's half of a 12oz bag and 2) I like chocolate chip cookies because of the chocolate chips! No regrets!

      I will never make Tollhouse cookies again. These are wonderful- a big hit with everone. I used eggbeaters instead of eggwhites, dark brown sugar and just a tad more chocolate chips. You really can't tell a difference between these and a "regular" recipe.

      These were great! I found this recipe on another site but wanted to add it to my cookbook here. I modified it slightly due to some of the suggestions on the other site. Here's what I changed: 2 cups of flour, 3/4 cup of brown and white sugar, 1/2 cup shortening, and 1 full cup chocolate chips.<br/><br/><br/>I also had to bake them for 12 minutes, but that might just be my oven. (electric, Frigidaire)<br/><br/><br/>They are perfect for me, and good enough to make the kids happy. :-)

      I made a big mistake and only put 1.25 cups of flour, so my first tray turned out VERY flat but not altogether bad (they were pretty sugary). The second couple trays were really really dry. I only added back another 1/2 cup flour, and the batter wasn't quite sticking together. I added a bit of water to help with that but wasn't sure if I'd done soething wrong or if there was some other issue. I love that these cookies are easy, reasonably sized, and don't require any gross artificial sweeteners yet have a completely manageable number of calories. Thanks for sharing! Hopefully next time I'll learn to read. :)
