Good, simple recipe, very easy to follow and suitable for beginners. The recipe is versatile and easy to alter. I used sultanas (raisins) instead of the nuts and used more nutmeg and a little allspice too. I made the biscuits smaller and cooked them for a shorter time, since I like them chewy.
These were good. They turned out very crispy. I didn't notice the nutmeg. I think I might add more the next time. It could be b/c my nutmeg is the preground stuff and it's been in there for awhile. Once it is gone I am splurging on a whole nutmeg and will try this again!
