These arent your ordinary chocolate chip cookies. The addition of nutmeg is wonderful! This also makes a little batch, so if you want more than 2 dozen, double it! :)

  1. Cream together butter, sugar, vanilla, and egg.
  2. Stir in dry ingredients.
  3. Add chips and nuts (I dont ever use nuts, but I have used mint chips before.... mmmmmmm).
  4. Drop by spoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 10-14 minutes.

Good, simple recipe, very easy to follow and suitable for beginners. The recipe is versatile and easy to alter. I used sultanas (raisins) instead of the nuts and used more nutmeg and a little allspice too. I made the biscuits smaller and cooked them for a shorter time, since I like them chewy.

These were good. They turned out very crispy. I didn't notice the nutmeg. I think I might add more the next time. It could be b/c my nutmeg is the preground stuff and it's been in there for awhile. Once it is gone I am splurging on a whole nutmeg and will try this again!
