Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip

"I'm not sure if it taste like chocolate chip cookie dough exactly because of the cream cheese, but it is very good. You can serve this dip with graham crackers, vanilla wafer cookies or pretzels. I love it for when I need a sweet dessert but don't have the time to bake cookies. Cook time is cooling time for the butter mixture."

directions

  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the brown sugar over medium heat. Stir continuously, until the brown sugar dissolves. (You can also do this in the microwave but watch it closely. The butter/sugar mixture will boil over fast. Stir every 30 seconds or so.)
  • Remove from heat, whisk in the vanilla and set aside to cool.
  • Beat the cream cheese and confectioner's sugar for 1 minute.
  • Slowly beat in the cooled butter mixture and beat again for another minute.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
  • Pour into a serving bowl and refrigerate.
  • Garnish with additional chocolate chips or nuts, if you choose.

Questions & Replies

  1. Hi! I want to make this for a party at 2:30 on Monday. Can I make it the night before and just refrigerate it until then or is it best fresh or room temp/take it out ahead of time? Thanks, Jenn

  1. Wow, this was so fantastic. I made it without the nuts for personal preference. I doubled the batch and am very glad I did :) I served it with graham cracker sticks, animal crackers, and pretzels. I personally liked it with the pretzels best -- loved the sweet/salty combo. I'll definitely be making this again. Thanks so much for posting!

  2. Very good dip. It does make a good amount and it is very rich. Easy to make. The only thing I changed was using a dash of Kahlua instead of vinalla.

  3. yumm :) I substituted mascarpone for the cream cheese and it was quite good

  4. Added 1/2t more vanilla and a dash of kosher salt.......definitely tastes like cookie dough!

  5. With these ingredients, it's pretty hard to go wrong. :) This stuff is super amazing and I actually think it is really good with apples or strawberries, though it seems like most people stick with graham crackers and cookies. One batch was enough for the party I went to where there were about 10 people and lots of snacks, but you could definitely double it for a similar or larger-sized group.

  1. yummy! I think if I make it again in the future, I'd try a cinnamon pecan cream cheese instead of original ... to try and get less of the cream cheese-y taste (and add some yummy flavors :) )
