  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°F).
  2. Prepare round baking tin.
  3. Cream butter, sugar and almond extract and beat well.
  4. Add eggs mix well.
  5. Add the cocoa powder and mix until well combined.
  6. Add flour to butter mixture until just combined.
  7. Stir in cherries.
  8. Pour batter into prepared tin.
  9. Bake for 30- 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
  10. Cool and frost with chocolate butter cream frosting.
