  1. Cream together sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla.
  2. Stir in melted chocolate.
  3. Add dry ingredients alternately with water.
  4. Stir in cherries and nuts.
  5. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13 inch cake pan.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
