Questions & Replies

  1. For this SUPER easy (& yummy sounding!) sauce could I substitute a cup of Nutella for a cup of the chocolate chips? Maybe by adding extra caramels? I’m an extremely experienced chef/baker but don’t want to waste ingredients & wanted something simple to use up things I already had. Thanks!

  1. This was really good (and rich ;-) !) I reduced the recipe, to make 1/4, and was hoping that I could use it as an 'apple dipping sauce', kinda re-creating the gourmet chocolate caramel dipped apples! This worked really well! Next time I may add some chopped nuts, or a sprinkle of heath bars bits would be fabulous too! Thanks for sharing, ElaineAnn!

  2. How easy can you get? This came out a bit thinner than I expected and I would recommend milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet as the caramels tend to get lost in the semi-sweet. Having said that, this is yummy and so chocolaty and satin like that you have to love it. I made it to go with a cake for DH but it would be great on ice cream, over bread pudding, in coffee (I tried that and it works!). Thanks hon for something so simple and versatile, not to mention good!
