  • 18 14 ounces chocolate cake mix
  • 12 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 35 caramels, unwrapped
  • 12 ounces chocolate candies, mini m&m's

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Grease 13x9 inch pan.
  • Combine dry cake mix, melted margarine, and 2/3 cup evaporated milk in large bowl and mix well.
  • Spread half of batter (about 2 cups) in greased pan.
  • Bake for 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, heat caramels with remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk over low heat in small saucepan until melted, stirring constantly.
  • Remove pan from oven, sprinkle with 1 cup of candy.
  • Drizzle with caramel mixture.
  • Drop remaining batter by heaping spoonfuls over caramel mixture.
  • Sprinkle with remaining 2/3 cup of candy.
  • Return to oven and bake for additional 20 - 24 minutes or until center is set.
  • Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled.

  1. These came out great! Everyone loves them. My only comment is that they were still very cake like and not brownie like,as in pretty airy and not dense, like I like my brownies. I cut the 9 x13 pan into 36 peices, they are very decadent! Will make again!

I'm just now getting into cooking. Because I am such a picky eater I never try anything new and my family always gets the same ordinary meals. I'm trying to change that by (slowly) experimenting with different recipes.
