Chocolate Cake & Frosting - Easy and Delicious

"This is an easy chocolate cake and frosting recipe--you pour the frosting on when it's warm and then it sets up like fudge. I like using Hershey's dark cocoa powder. Try adding toasted pecans or coconut to either cake or frosting."

  • Beat two eggs.
  • Place 1 stick butter, 1/2 cup shortening, 4 tbsp cocoa, 1 cup water in pot
  • Bring to boil.
  • Place flour and sugar in large bowl
  • Add boiled mixture and eggs; stir.
  • Add 1 stick butter, baking soda and vanilla to cake batter; stir until butter is melted.
  • Pour into 8x11-inch pan.
  • Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes or until done.
  • Frosting:

  • Place 1 stick butter, cocoa powder, milk in pot; bring to boil.
  • When it starts to boil, add vanilla and powdered sugar.
  • Mix together and pour over cake while both cake and frosting are WARM!
  • Enjoy.
