Just a really simple, easy recipe but the results are fantastic

Amazing chocolate cake. Moist, tender, lovely crumb.Rose beautifully and evenly, so it looked as good as it tasted. I made a recipe and a half and cooked it in a 15 inch pyrex sheet pan. It was a hit at my friends' 43 wedding anniversary party. I substituted buttermilk for the sour milk, but otherwise didn't change a thing. Had to send it to one of the guests, who took a huge chunk home to her husband, expecting to share it with him, but he ate the whole thing. I made a cocoa cream cheese frosting for it, because my meringue icing wouldn't stiffen because of the humidity. (In Tucson no less!) Thanks for posting this recipe. It's going to be a staple on my catering menu.

  1. 1. Combine the first 6 ingedients in a large bowl or mixer - mix well.
  2. 2. Combine wet ingredients together and mix well.
  3. 3. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix well.
  4. 4. Grease a 10" spring form pan add cake mix and bake at 350 for approx 35 to 40 minutes - test doness with a toothpick in the middle.
