1. I made this cake recently using Bob Red Mill 1 to 1 Gluten Free Flour. Everything else was the same. I have substituted that flour for many other regular cake recipes and they have all turned out really great. This one, I have to say, was dry. I think it really needs more butter - probably at least an extra 1/2 cup. Apparently I have attached a review to the icing recipe instead of the cake recipe. My apologies. I will look back to see if i can find the proper recipe. It is one that is linked to this icing. Don't have time to look right now.

 2. Really needs more cocoa in my opinion. Pretty good when you make that adjustment.

 3. Wonderful.

 4. OMG!!!!!!!This stuff ROCKED!!!! I used margarine (all I had for the moment) and half and half, but it ROCKED! This had the chocolatey taste I was looking for and not too sweet. I am using this from now on! No more canned frosting for me! (although I would do a double recipe for 24 cupcakes).

 5. Yumm! This frosting was so creamy, just what I wanted! I used it on KITTENCAL's cupcakes Easy and Good One-Bowl Chocolate Chip Fudge Cupcakes!. I was looking for an easy chocolate buttercream frosting that was creamy and didn't need to be made on a stove. If you would like to see more reviews, I've realized this recipe is exactly the same as Chocolate Buttercream Frosting, except that one has 1/2 tsp. more vanilla! Thank you for the easy and yummy frosting!

I made this account back in 2001, when the site was called "Recipezaar". A lot has changed in my life since then. My kids are all grown and I try to eat a low-carb lifestyle now. Some of my older recipes were handed down from my grandmother. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I have. Current recipes that I post will mostly be low carb or keto.
