I seem to be the voice of dissent on this recipe, but I could NOT get it to thicken with the volumes listed on this recipe. It was way, way too runny at first go. I eventually got it to be spreadable by adding more powdered sugar, but it ended up way, way too sweet.

I was pressed for time so I dumped all the ingredients in a bowl at one time and mixed. I had previously softened the butter in the microwave. The frosting turned out beautifully. We loved the taste and texture. I will use this again and again. Thanks for sharing

A delicious milk-chocolate-like frosting. I used cream in place of the milk and used it to frost Best Ever Banana Cake With Cream Cheese Frosting. I whisked the cocoa and confectioner's sugar together before adding them to the butter. We think this frosting tastes even better cold!

This was just what I needed. I'm allergic to eggs so baking has never been my thing but I found an eggless recipe for chocolate cake and loved it enough to make some cupcakes but I needed a frosting. This is light and easy to spread and just melts in your mouth. Thank you!

My son made this for a youth fair with Sue B's Chocolate Cake and won first prize! The frosting was thick and chocolaty and delicious, and the recipe is easy to follow. He topped with chocolate curls from a dark chocolate bar. It was just the right amount for a 2 layer 9-inch round cake.
