As is, the recipe was a bit too sweet and not chocolatey enough for my tastes. I cut the powdered sugar down to 2 cups. Then I melted an unsweetened chocolate bakers square and about a .5 ounce of semi-sweet chocolate chips and whipped it into some half and half. Great texture and a richer chocolate taste without being overly sugary.

SO GOOD! !! The only thing is that it took me way longer to mix than 10 minutes. Using an electric mixer too. But so worth it!!!!

I added extra cocoa just to give it a more chocolate flavor. I used this on sugar cookies and it was perfect!!

This is a great recipe! I used a cake tip to swirl the icing around cupcakes and it moulded very nicely. It was a bit sweet, so next time I will not use as much sugar. Overall a very good and easy recipe!

I'm so disappointed. I usually opt for something more involved and just wanted a basic, rich chocolate buttercream. My result was a pasty mess that just tasted like sugar. I don't know what everyone else did differently, but I definitely won't make this again.

I just baked a three-layer moist chocolate cake and used this recipe for the icing. Impressive!!!! Easy to do, delicious, delectable, and awe-inspiring. Can't go better than that, whew!!!! Check out my cake photo with this super delicious icing. Thank you for this amazing recipe!!!!!

This is a very nice frosting. I ended up having to add more powdered sugar to get the consistency right for spreading, resulting in a very sweet product. Next time I will tweek the liquid so it isn't as sweet.

Super simple, reminds me of the frosting on the cake my best friends mom would make when where were little. My son had asked for a yellow cake filled with strawberries and with chocolate frosting. This frosting filled the bill perfectly. I did double the recipe and had very little left (8 inch round cake). Other than doubling I made no changes and see no need for any changes. If you are looking for a frosting to make more than just a simple boarder this may not be the best, it is a little soft for that.
