Made this today for my husband's birthday. It was inspired by Black Velvet Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare three 8-inch round pans with oil and cocoa powder and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  3. Make a well in the center and pour in the eggs, coffee, buttermilk and oil. Mix until smooth; batter will be thin.
  4. Pour evenly into prepared pans. Bake in the preheated oven 25 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
  5. In a large bowl, mix together icings and cocoa.
  6. Frost cake.
