Remember that evaporated milk, including the non-fat variety, makes a great "half and half" creamer. If you don't want to use sugar, try about 1/2 packet of Sweet N Low or a whole packet of Equal. I found this recipe in Pop It, Stir It, Fit It, Serve It. I have not tried this recipe, but I'm posting it for safe keeping.
- 236.59 ml brewed coffee
- 1.23 ml almond extract
- 1.23 ml vanilla extract
- 1.23 ml unsweetened cocoa powder
- artificial artificial sweetener
- Add the almond and vanilla extracts and the cocoa to your brewed coffee and stir until dissolved.
- Add cream and sweetener if desired.
This is terrific! I was surprised that so much flavor came through using extract instead of coffee syrups. It made a great cup of coffee for my cold winter afternoon. The only thing I skipped on was the cream as I usually drink my coffee black with a bit of sweetener and this recipe allows me to do just that with some added flavor! Great flavors. I have used the flavored Torani syrups for years, but I find by keeping an assortment of extracts in the pantry, I can save money AND control the amount of sweetness. This one replaces the chocolate, almond and vanilla syrup bottles for a fraction of the price, and tastes wonderful. :) Made for Winter 2010 Comfort Cafe game.
