This is a very quick no-fuss chipotle mayo. Try it on a grilled chicken, tomato and cheddar sandwich on ciabatta bread.
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 3⁄4 teaspoon dried chipotle powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
- Stir all ingredients together and refrigerate. The flavors will develop after several hours.
Very quick and easy to make. It has a more complex and richer taste than the bottled variety available on grocery shelves. I used high-quality chipotle powder from my local co-op, that probably made a positive difference.
Oh, this is SO good! It turned an ordinary chicken salad sandwich into a masterpiece. I followed the recipe, using fresh lemon juice, sea salt and a 3 pepper blend of black, red and yellow peppers. I topped my homemade gluten free buttermilk bread with lettuce, tomato, shredded chicken and chipotle mayonnaise. Delicious! Thanks for sharing this awesome spread, jlotterer! Made and enjoyed for Spring 2011 Pick A Chef. You've been adopted! :)
Love love love this recipe. It is being added to my personal favorites. I have used this on multiple sandwiches and it adds a wonderful flavor to them. I am so glad this recipe was posted jlotterer. Thanks so much for this 5 star recipe!
