Sugar free maple syrup nuts.

  1. Blend a few tablespoons with a teaspoon of ground Chipotle powder and tablespoon or two of butter, a sprinkle of salt -- and toss it with a pound of pecans.
  2. Spread out on a sheet pan and roast in a 300 degree oven for about 15 minutes until toasty. Watch that you dont burn them.
  3. When they cool, they are roasted and crisp -- and that sweet hot salty thing going on is AMAZING.

These are pretty good! I like the sweet and spicy. My grocery store didn't have sugar-free maple syrup, so I use good ol' Aunt Jemima's... I'm thinking of trying this recipe on chickpeas too. Made for PAC Fall '09
