Chinese Water Chestnuts

These appetizers are always the first to go. Flavors complement perfectly. From Just a Matter of Thyme cookbook. These can be assembled a day ahead and baked later.

Great appetizers and everyone gobbled them up,. Marinating the waterchestnuts in the soy/ginger really give them a great flavor. These appetizers have a great combination of sweet and salty. Can't wait to make these again. Thanks for sharihg, ConnaColorado Joyhnson!

  1. Mix sugars, ginger and soy sauce. Cut water chestnuts in half. Soak chestnuts in mixture for thirty minutes.
  2. Cut bacon strips in half and wrap each chestnut with a piece of bacon.
  3. Secure with toothpick.
  4. Bake at 375 for 15-20 minutes in a baking dish.
