Delicious! My family loves this. I got this recipe at Diet Workshop many years ago and still make it regularly. Great with rice.

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Brown chicken in oil in a large skillet, about 5-10 minutes.
  3. Remove chicken and reduce heat.
  4. Add onion and cook until tender.
  5. Return chicken to skillet and add chicken broth, soy sauce, ginger, carrots and black pepper.
  6. Cover and cook 5 minutes.
  7. Uncover and add celery and green pepper.
  8. Cover and cook 5 minutes.
  9. Add bean sprouts and water chestnuts and cook 5 minutes more.
  10. Mix corn starch and water together.
  11. Stir into chicken mixture until thickened.

I haven't actually made this myself, but I've had my mom's more times than I can count, and I just had to rate it. I love this so much I could eat it every day! The flavors blend together so well, and if I didn't know better I would never have guessed it was healthy! I would highly recommend this recipe. Yum!

I agree with other reviews that this needed garlic. I still found it lacking in flavour a bit but I don't know what more I could've put in. It had loads of onion, celery and peppers already. I actually thought it needed a bit of salt which is weird since there is soy sauce in it. It's a good, quick recipe and I'll try it again. Thanks for sharing!

Whereas this was good, it wasn't my favorite. There wasn't a ton of flavor. I'll try it again, but with less broth and more seasonings like garlic. Thanks for the inspiration!
