I concocted this one for a Lenten Series dinner at church in 2007. It is pretty basic, uses readily available ingredients, and minimal preparation time.

This was a very good and easy to fix chili recipe. I added more beans to it and used tomato purée rather tomato sauce. Plus, I used a little over 6 lbs of ground beef. Everyone loved it. I'm not exactly sure how many we fed as I didn't count plates but it was in the range of 35 to 45.

The chilli was great. I used black beans instead of kidney beans. But it would not have served 50. We served 35 people, 13 were children and we served it over noodles. I think it would have served maybe 25 with out the noodles.

Thanks so much for posting, I just wanted to share another preservative.
