  1. In a skillet, brown beef and onion; drain.
  2. Stir in beans, tomato sauce, tomatoes, chili powder, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bring to a boil; cover and reduce heat; simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Stir in pasta; heat through.

A great week night family casserole. I was looking for a comfort food casserole last night and chose this recipe. Then I realized I didn't have kidney beans and bowtie pasta, but I did have black beans and macaroni. I was real pleased with those substitutions. I added a little cumin and cayenne pepper (we like our spice) and at the end, put it in a baking pan, topped it with some cheese slices and melted those for a few minutes in a 350 oven. Very yummy. We're looking forward to the left-overs, and I'm sure this is one of those dishes that is even better the next day. We'll make this again. Thanks, NurseDi.
