Hubby raved about this! Told me to add it in to the regulars and shall. Yum-love Mexican food! Because we are only two people, I made the entire meat portion (with ground turkey breast) then scooped out part of it for casserole dish and topped with leftover mashed potatoes and put rest in fridge for chile. Thank you Noo for a delicious supper!

Good and easy to make. I used cumin powder as I didn't have cumin seeds but followed the rest of the recipe as written.

ooooh love anything with a Mexican flair! I used cumin powder as that's what I had on hand. I skipped on the tomatoes cause my DH stole the ones I had out for this for sandwiches lol My DD dubbed this totally awesome!

This was good thanks Noo. We don't get kidney beans in Chilli sauce, so I drained my beans and added in about 3/4 cup of a spicy salsa. That worked well. I only used potatoes and as they cooked up very dry, I added in some butter and sour cream. I plan to make this at work next week, but will alter and up the spices a bit.

We had this for dinner tonight and really loved it! i did make a few very minor alterations, but stuck to the basic idea of your recipe. With the chili, I used ground cumin, as that was all I had. I couldn't get kidney beans in chili sauce, so I did as you suggested and used a can of regular beans, and added the roasted capsicum, and I added 2 tspn of chili flakes instead of chili powder. I used a can of chopped tomatoes with roasted capsicum, and I added a can of condensed tomato soup to make it a little saucier. With th epotato, I mashed them with milk and butter, and added 2 eggs, which I beat in with an electric hand mixer. I topped it it with grated cheese, chili flakes, and ground cumin. I assembled it all before we went to the cinema, and popped it in the fridge til we came home. When we were ready to eat, I baked it at 180C for about 30 minutes. [Made for PRMR] ******************************* EDIT: We had the leftovers tonight, and the flavours are even more wonderful the next day! I'd give another 5 stars if I could :D

A fun combination of shepards pie and tamale pie. I came across this while trying to decide how to use some left over lean turkey and decided to adapt (don't eat much beef). As suggested in the into, I used kidney beans with seasoning and also added 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce for my small pie serving just two. The flavors were really quite good and mild as promised, easy to fix if you care for spice. The parsnips were and intiguing addition and I did half potato and half parsnip. They results were far more interesting and complex and I loved the contrast with the chili below (mine had extra spices as I use a chipotle chili powder). My one significant comment was that I thought the serving, which was very generous and filling was a little unbalanced with far more topping than chili and would probably cut by a third in the future.
