This is a recipe I found years ago in the LA times...It's really good with a heavy BBQ meal...refreshing and low fat... Adopted 8/2006.
- Peel mangoes, cut along flat side of seed into 2 pieces, Set aside.
- Grill mangoes on greased grill over glowing coals, 2 to 3 minutes per side (please do not neglect to grease the grill with oil, or the fruit will stick).
- Remove to platter and sprinkle with lime juice, chili powder and salt.
- Serve at room temperature.
My co-worker went to a street fair on sunday and she brought in her leftovers. which turned out to be this delicious the best OMG.. I think everyone should try this !!!
I followed the recipe exactly as written for the 4th of July, but my guests barely ate it. I thought it was DIFFERENT, but not anything I'd try again. The chili powder took over the mango taste.
I LOVE these! They may actually be my new favorite thing! I made these in my george forman grill. I cooked them for about 6 min and it wasn't quite enough. I'll go about 10 min next time. I also used cayanne instead of chili powder becasue I misread the directions but it turned out fantastic. Try these...you'll like them. Thanks Ducky!
