I sometimes like to add corn and jalapeno to give the chili a more southwest flavor. Also, this chili is great served over mashed potatoes.

This is a great recipe for the bachelor. I changed the recipe from 3 to 4 tablespoons of chili powder, and because I didn’t have a can of “spicy chili bean�, I substituted a can of “Old El Paso� chopped green chili peppers (127ml). (only because I had one in my pantry) Otherwise, I followed this recipe to the letter. I didn’t try it over the mashed potatoes yet, but, this recipe makes so much chili, I’ll have enough leftovers to try it over mash potatoes tomorrow. Looking forward to that!!

  1. Brown ground meat in a large pot.
  2. Add onion, garlic, and green pepper.
  3. Cook until soft.
  4. Add all tomato sauces.
  5. Add chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Cook at a slow simmer for about 45 minutes.
  7. Add all beans and cook about another 15 minutes.
