- 1 lb ground beef
- 1⁄2 cup onion, chopped
- 5 cups cooked pinto beans
- 3 tablespoons red chili powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 dash salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon cumin (comino)
directions
- Brown the meat.
- Add the onions, beans, and seasonings.
- Simmer 30 minutes.
- If chili is thin, add a tablespoon cornmeal.
- Serve with tortillas or rice, or on hot dogs.

Still in West Virginia but we've moved a few miles away, down to the county capitol. It's a compromise: bigger than our last town but smalelr than the "big city" of Cumberland MD, right up the road. Jobs are not that plentiful here so I am fortunate to be able to work at home (I'm a writer).
