Chicken Wings in Honey BBQ Sauce

"One of my favorite Slow Cooker recipes and can easily be an appetizer or a main dish recipe. My Slow Cooker has a removable Corning-Ware crock which can be used on the stove-top, so I spray it with Pam and brown the wings in it which makes this recipe even easier."

  1. My friend took these to a party and came home with the sauce...

  2. Gotta say, This recipe was great. But what mostly got me was the sauce. I changed it a little though. We didn't have any Soy Sauce, so instead, we used Hot Sauce to spice it up, along with some red pepper and black pepper. See, now down south, we deep fry A LOT of things, so instead of baking the chicken, drop it in a deep fryer, and make sure the sauce stays on a low heat. As soon as you fish the wings outta the fryer, drop em in the sauce and roll them around a bit and then put them on a plate and cover em with aluminum foil and let them set for a few minutes. keepin them covered will allow the heat to cook them inside just a little more and allow the sauce to thicken a little. This sauce.... I saved it and I put it on everything meant. Hamburgers, hot dogs, cooked spam. it makes everything amazing. thanks for the recipie.

  3. I made this yesterday for a work potluck and it was a HIT! I only had 1 cup of honey so made half the sauce recipe but turned out to be plenty. I broiled at home, then at work had it cook on high 2 hrs then took off the lid and cook on low another 1.5 hrs to thicken sauce (didn't really). Made the place smell divine. It was the first thing to go and was falling off the bone. The guys told me I need to double it next time and found a slotted spoon to find all the little bits of meat that fell off. Mmmmm

  4. My entire family loved these!! I made exactly as the recipe stated the first time...excellent!! And when we had friends over I added a few drops of tabasco to the rest of the mixture and they were very good as well. Thanks You for the great new recipe!!

  5. My family really like these. I cooked them on low for about 5 hours. I removed all the wings and placed them in a greased baking dish and covered them with some sauce. I then broiled them for about 15 minutes. Our personal taste prefers a more sticky type of sauce and a little bit of crisp on the outside and this did the trick for us. Falling off the bone good!!! Thanks

  1. FANTASTIC SAUCE! I had intended to follow the recipe exactly even though a lot of reviewers mentioned cutting the soy sauce down (I love soy sauce) - but then I actually ran out of it anyway so I ended up with just over 1/2 c. and I thought it was just about perfect. I wish that I had taken a little of the sauce out and reserved it to glaze a salmon or some shrimp - it had such a nice flavor. The chicken wings ended up overdone on low for 4 hrs but I believe that to be the fault of my crockpot and some cheap wings - they weren't very meaty. I'm going to try this one again for sure. I used Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and butter instead of oil. Thanks Susie in Texas!
