Chicken Wings in Honey BBQ Sauce

One of my favorite Slow Cooker recipes and can easily be an appetizer or a main dish recipe. My Slow Cooker has a removable Corning-Ware crock which can be used on the stove-top, so I spray it with Pam and brown the wings in it which makes this recipe even easier.

• Total Time: 2 hrs 40 mins
• Prep Time: 10 mins
• Cook Time: 2 hrs 30 mins

Ingredients:

Yield: 32 appetiz ...

• 3 lbs chicken wings (approx. 16-18 wings)
• salt and black pepper
• 2 cups honey
• 1 cup soy sauce (I use reduced sodium)
• ½ cup your favorite bottled barbecue sauce
• ¼ cup oil
• 2 cloves garlic , minced

Directions:

1. Cut off and discard wing tips.
2. Cut each wing at joint to make two sections.
3. Rinse wings, drain and pat dry with paper towels.
4. Season wings with salt and pepper, to taste.
5. Place wings on broiler pan and broil about 6 inches from heat for 10 minutes on each side OR until brown.
6. Transfer wings to Slow Cooker.
7. Combine remaining ingredients in a bowl; pour over chicken wings.
8. Cover and place Slow Cooker on High for 2 hour or Low for 4 hours.

My entire family loved these!! I made exactly as the recipe stated the first time...excellent!! And when we had friends over I added a few drops of tabasco to the rest of the mixture and they were very good as well. Thanks You for the great new recipe!!

I made this yesterday for a work potluck and it was a HIT! I only had 1 cup of honey so made half the sauce recipe but turned out to be plenty. I broiled at home, then at work had it cook on high 2 hrs then took off the lid and cook on low another 1.5 hrs to thicken sauce (didn't really). Made the place smell divine. It was the first thing to go and was falling off the bone. The guys told me I need to double it next time and found a slotted spoon to find all the little bits of meat that fell off. Mmmmm

Did these for a party recently. I unfortunately can't tell you how they were, they were all gone before I had a chance to try one. A big hit.
