I found this on AllRecipes.com posted by Yakuta. I made some small changes but this is, by far and hands down, the best chicken tikka masala recipe I've ever come across.

  1. In a large bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, 2 tsp cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, black pepper, ginger, and 4 teaspoons salt. Stir in chicken, cover and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  2. Preheat a grill for high heat.
  3. Lightly oil grill grate. Thread chicken onto skewers and discard marinade. Grill until juices run clear, about 5-10 minutes.
  4. Melt butter in a large heavy skillet over medium high heat. Saute garlic & jalapeno for 1 minute. Season with 2 teaspoons of cumin, paprika, and 3 teaspoons salt. Stir in tomato sauce and cream. Simmer on low heat until sauce thickens, about 20 minutes. Add grilled chicken, and simmer for ten minutes. Transfer to serving plate and garnish with optional fresh cilantro.

The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because the salt does indeed need to be adjusted, as stated in previous reviews. I used 1 tsp in the marinade and another tsp in the sauce. It was absolutely delicious. My family declared it restaurant quality and asked if we could have it every week. I order this often in Indian restaurants but had never attempted it at home, so I am delighted to find such an easy and tasty recipe for it!

Thanks to the previous reviewer for the warning. I reduced the salt by more than half, and the result was absolutely delicious. Smells and tastes really authentic. Serve a raita with it.

I agree with the recommendation to significantly reduce the amount of salt called for in the recipe. Having done that the result was delicious.
