What a wonderful way to use leftovers! Loved it! Usually have cooked chicken in freezer so this can in handy for an easy supper. I reserved some of the melted butter for Step 4, mine were done in 20 minutes. Thank you Vicki for sharing.
This recipe was the Pillsbury Bake Off Winner in 1975. You really can't go wrong. It's whats for dinner tonight but with a little cheese, garlic, and assorted spices & veggies I have thrown in to add a little flavor. Don't use canned chicken (that's just gross and wrong) but you can be lazy and use a rotisserie chicken to make prep easier.
Easy and delicious! I added in some garlic powder and cayenne to the chicken mixture, increased the onion amount and used seasoned salt, this was thoroughly enjoyed, thanks Vicki!
I can't believe more people havent left reviews for this recipe. I LOVE IT! I always make these for company and everyone I know makes them for family events/dinners. Luckily they are usually gone the same night, because they are not as good re-heated the next day. But that doesnt stop me from eating them! This is a perfect recipe if you are looking for something inexpensive and different- would work well as small appetizer also. My family and friends have been making these for about 10 years now. You cant go wrong! A friend of mine adds white wine to hers, I'm not sure how much-but it adds a little something.
ooh these were sooo good. The filling ends up being really creamy and rich. Defiantly comfort food! The kids loved them and even dh who doesn't like cream cheese had 2nds
