Just made this and it really tastes nice even though I only used bouillon cubes with water and buckwheat noodles.
Amazing soup. I bought a precooked chicken and took all the meat off the bones. Then I took 2 liters of chicken stock and boiled the bones in the stock with an additional 2 cups of water. I sauted the carrots, onion, and celery for a lot longer than 2 min because thats where you develop the flavors. Probably around 25 min. Otherwise I followed the recipe pretty much exactly. People said it was the best soup they had eaten in their life.
Delicious! Super easy and very flavorful! I needed extra broth as the chicken and noodles soak up the broth...
I made this today for my sick fiance. We both agree that it is the BEST chicken noodle soup we have ever had. I've stopped my search for CNS because THIS is it. The thyme makes it so rich and I love the addition of the potato. It's just enough to fill in and add an extra layer.
This soup was very good. Added more broth because I had alot of chicken.
This was sooo delicious. All the reviews were helpful! I added more chicken broth and omitted the thyme. I also used store bought rotisserie chicken and the soup turned out excellent. Even though the soup was for me since I was the one that was sick, my family (who weren't even sick) devoured most of it. Thank you for this wonderful soup!
Wonderful recipe! My DH is sick so I was looking for good chicken noodle soup recipe. It hit the spot, flavourful and easy to eat with a sore throat. I couldn't find canned chicken broth so I used ultra-condensed broth (it has the consistency of molasses before you add the water) but it still turned out very good. I too added a bit of salt at the end.
I ended up adding 1 tsp. of salt to this. The flavor was great!
I made this tonight for my sick :( boyfriend. I made it exactly as written and it was YUMMY, full of flavor!! It's a pot of LOVE!! I used low sodium broth and low sodium bouillon..that is the way to go!! I just added some salt at the end. The only thing I will do different next time is double the recipe because this wasn't enough! :) Thank you for a keeper!!!
This was really good. I have made chicken noodle soup in the past that lacked flavor, and tonight my husband said, "ooooh this is really flavorful, did you get a new recipe?!" I followed the recipe except I only put 1/2 tsp. each of the poultry seasoning and the thyme. It just kind of seemed like too much to me. And I would repeat the recipe this way, it was very flavorful, but the seasonings were stuck all to the sides of the bowls, so I think 1/2 tsp. was plenty. This will be the recipe I use from now on. Thanks.
