This is going into my favourite recipes cookbook! I did add mushrooms but other than that I followed the recipe pretty closely.
Great recipe. I made a few adjustments to cut down the saturated fat, but it was still excellent. Substituting more olive oil for the butter, and more wine for the cream, the total per serving is 629 calories, 281 from fat. Highly recommend. Cooking times are just about perfect.
Good stuff!! I did make a couple of changes--I browned the chicken in a little bit of bacon grease instead of oil and butter, and I added 1/2 tsp. of poultry seasoning to the sauce when I added the wine. DH loved it. It's definitely a keeper!
Wonderful recipe. I changed the servings to 1.1 (this used 1 lb. of chicken) and that fed two. I added sliced mushrooms when I added the carrots and the mushrooms added a nice flavor. I served the coq au vin blanc on top of rice with the remaining Riesling as a drink with the meal. DH loved this dinner. I will make this again :)
