Good flavor and fairly easy to make. My whole family enjoyed it. My only complaint with this recipe is the waste. I generally cook for and used about 3 pounds of meat and there was way to much egg/milk mixture--threw lots down the drain when I was done. The amount of gravy was good though--need some to eat the biscuits with!!!

This was soooo good. Made it with some mashed potatoes, very comforting meal. I didn't use the full amount of flour for the coating, also had way to much egg wash left over. I'll cut that back next time.

Good and something different. Next time I need to add more flavor to the gravy; more salt.

Great recipe, we always get the chicken fried steak at Chili's or the chicken fried chicken from Cracker Barrel...now I can make it whenever we want, basic ingredients and so easy...only thing is the gravy took forever to thicken, I don't think I had the temp high enough. Great w/mashed pototoes and green beans. Thanks!

This was great, Mark. My mother used to make this when I was little and this is the closest I have came to getting that wonderful taste again. Thanks for posting.

This dish, (I hope that's appropiate), was absolutely fabulous. I love chicken fried steak to begin with. This was "THE BEST" I have ever made or eaten. I served some mashed Idahoan potatoes on the side to accompany the gravy with some baked beans with dark brown sugar. It all wouldn't have been half as good had I not made it with your WONDERFUL, "Chicken Fried Steak w/Cream Gravy"!!! I hope it's appropiate when I say , "Yeeeee Haaaaaawwww"!!! And I sincerly mean that!!!

Mark, this is great! The only thing I did different was brown the flour in the drippings and then add the milk. It only took a few minutes to come to a boil and thicken. This has great taste and texture! Very good comfort food! Thanks for the recipe, I will add it to my favorites!

First time to make Chicken Fried Steak (as a matter of fact, one of the first times I've fried anything!) and these were pretty good. I wasn't really sure how much to season the flour, but I added season salt to the flour and also added some of Paula Deen's House seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic powder) directly to the steaks before dipping them. I actually didn't measure anything for either the steaks or the gravy, just estimated as I had cut it down to make 2 steaks. It made a good amount of gravy, but we ended up eating pretty much all of it between the steaks and mashed potatoes. Thanks for helping make my first frying experience a good one!

I can easily give this recipe a 5 star rating! I've been preparing my chicken fried steak this way for many, many years! I always use cube steak and make sure you dredge in the steak in flour and then in the egg/milk mix a couple times to get a really good coating. Love the cream gravy this makes! Don't be shy with your salt and pepper!! Be sure you serve with mashed potatoes and some corn bread for a really great supper! I'm so glad you posted, Mark!

This is a dish that was always quite mysterious to me, I ordered it at restaurants a lot and I am THRILLED (and so is my hubby!) that I know how to make it now. I would give a 5, but as other raters point out, the amounts are a bit off and I didn't care for the gravy with all the bits. Thanks for the basics, Mark, I am concocting my own secret recipe-He He He (-;

Oooooh baby!!!! This is so wonderful! I did use half and half instead of milk (cause I like to be a bit decadent sometimes ;-) My 12-year old son inhaled this and wanted more! Thanks Mark :-)
